The Steps for Sublimation Printing Process (2)

Using a heat press, the sublimation ink can be transferred onto any desired polymer-coated substrate or polyester garment. Learning the process of digital sublimation printing takes a short learning curve and Impressions magazine and impressions.issshows.com are there to walk you through the process.
JUMBO ROLL
Are you looking to perfect digital sublimation on pre-sewn garments? Or do you need insight on using sublimation to create high-value photo gifts? If your clientele services athletic or team accounts, polyester performancewear can be a great upsell with a high profit margin, but sometimes can be challenging to decorate. Dye sublimation often is the answer, and Impressions offers articles on simplifying the process. Remember that for all digital sublimation techniques, a heat press is needed for curing. So brush up on your heat press printing through Impressions as well.
PROCESS
Sublimation is an art, and with practice you consistently can produce quality results. By applying the above best practices for preventing chipping, you can increase your business by successfully sublimating on hard-surface products.

How to choose The Best Heat Transfer Paper

how to choose The Best Heat Transfer Paper

When choosing the best transfer paper, there is rarely one paper that will work well with everything.
The type of transfer paper you should be using depends on the substrate you will be transferring to.
T-Shirts:
It may not be getting as much hype because “soft hand” transfers are all the craze lately. But, what a
lot of people may not know, is that most hot peel papers can achieve a softer feel with a few small tips.
Laser Heat Transfer Paper are is the type of paper people tend to shy away from. Laser papers may
seem scary, but they actually have a lot of positive attributes. Once you get past finding a laser printer that
doesn’t run too hot and you conquer finding all of the correct settings to run your laser paper through
smoothly, you can expect to be very happy with the results.
t-shirt transfer paper
Laser Transfer Paper is not nearly as scary as it seems!
Also, it’s important to feed your paper where the shorter side of the paper goes into the printer first. This
ensures the printer runs with the grain of the paper.)
sublimation paper
When printing onto transfers, it is unnecessary to print with a lot of ink. Your transfer is being transferred
onto fabric, which is textured. That texture is going to relieve some of that missing detail in the image, so
it’s not noticeable. Laser printers use toner and are not created to be photo printers, so they won’t put down
as much ink. This makes laser transfers great to avoid bleeding. Laser heat transfer papers are also very
durable and are less likely to fade as quickly if washed correctly.
iron on transfer paper
Home Iron:
A heat press is always recommended for best results, but not everyone has access to one. I suggest using
a cold peel paper if you are using a hand iron. When having to hand iron your transfer, especially larger
transfers, you cannot iron over the entire image at one time. I would recommend either Cold Peel or Iron
Man for home iron usage.

BASIC Differences Between T-shirt Transfer Paper & Sublimation Paper

BASIC Differences Between T-shirt Transfer Paper & Sublimation Paper

Generally speaking, when we are transferring t shirt,we will use thermal paper ,thermal transfer ink, t shirt transfer paper, etc. If u want to print piezoelectric printer pictures, sublimation transfer paper is the best choice. Then smooth T paper Shirts, and finally to the heat transfer by transferring photos to T-shirts systems. Fixing is a process that must be completed.

A special cotton T- shirt transfer paper must be used for transferring cotton t shirt along with by thermal transfer printing. In addition,Light-colored T-shirt sublimation paper must use a special light And vice versa conversion. Then print the picture to `` sublimation paper with a thin film above, to print photos, and the printing paper smoothed by the thermal transfer T- shirt.

How to Begin Business with Heat Transfer Paper

How to Begin Business with Heat Transfer Paper

As you know heat transferring allows you to create your own custom clothing, bags, mousepads and
other fabric items. Simply design the image you want, print it onto one of our heat transfer papers and
transfer it onto your item. It's as easy as that!
heat transfer paper
What you need:
•  Inkjet or laser printer
•  Artwork/Photograph
•  Heat Transfer paper
•  Heat press (required for certain transfer papers) or a hand iron (hand iron requires hard surface and
 pillowcase)
•  T-shirt or other item to receive transfer
heat transfer paper
The Basics of Heat Transfer:
Heat transferring begins with an image being printed in reverse (or mirrored) onto a piece of high
release transfer paper. The image is usually printed onto the paper with plastisol inks, which are flexible
and durable, but normal inks also work well. The transfer is then applied to garments, mouse pads, and
other fabric surfaces, by using a heat press or a hand iron. The heat press generally works better by
allowing more heat and pressure to assist the transferring process, however, hand irons may be used as
long as they can reach temperatures of up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. The process of transferring an image
from the paper to the garment typically takes 15-20 seconds with a heat press (2-4 minutes when using a
hand iron) and does not require a drying or curing process once applied. However, please refer to your
transfer papers specific instructions included with the paper for the correct transfer instructions.  Click
here for downloadable transfer paper instructions.
transfer processing
Which Paper to Use:
There are many different types of heat transfer papers available, so it's not unusual to be confused or lost
when trying to decide which one is the best for you. The three main ways to determine this is by the type
of printer you are using, whether you are printing on light or dark fabrics and, finally, the size of the image.
The best way to start is by choosing which is the best for your printer.

Please read these instructions in conjunction with your printer instruction manual.
Printing Instructions
1.Prepare your chosen image on the computer.
2.Print a copy onto plain paper to ensure it is correct.
3.Print on the MATT side of the transfer paper.
4.Print image to the highest print quality possible.
Single sheet feeding is recommended.
Transfer Instructions
1.Allow the image to dry for 30 minutes before transferring image.
2.Trim your image to remove any areas that have no print.
3.Round off the corners of your image to avoid corner lift off after washing.
4.Peel off the transfer film from the paper backing.  Discard the paper backing.

Preparing the Surface
1.Heat your iron (empty water) to maximum cotton setting;
2.100% cotton fabric works best;
3.Iron fabric first; allow to cool before transferring image;
4.Lay fabric on a hard, smooth surface.  An ironing board is NOT SUITABLE.  A table covered with a pillow case is suitable;
5.Place transfer paper with PRINTED IMAGE FACING UP in desired position straight onto the fabric.

Iron Image
1.Place a sheet of greaseproof paper over the top of the transfer paper.
2.Apply a hot dry iron onto the greaseproof paper at light pressure for no more than 15 seconds to fix the image onto the fabric.  DO NOT APPLY IRON DIRECTLY ONTO THE TRANSFER PAPER AS IT WILL STICK AND DAMAGE THE IRON.
3.Then iron for a further 60 seconds (maximum) evenly with slow circling movements from edge to edge ensuring heat is evenly transferred over the entire area.

Peel & Wear
Allow fabric to cool and then in a smooth even motion, peel away greaseproof paper from top of the transfer.
(Do not allow the iron to touch the image directly.)

Washing & Ironing
1.Wait 24 hours before washing for the first time.
2.Wash separately in cold water with garment turned inside out.
3.Garment can be ironed.  Turn garment inside out and avoid direct contact of the image with the iron.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not dry clean.

100% Cotton Dark T-shirt Transfer Printing with Dark T-shirt Transfer Paper

Dark T-shirt Transfer Paper for 100% Cotton Dark Fabric

When Using a Commercial Heat Press:
Set temperature at 325°F (375°F works fine).
Preheat garment for a few seconds to remove moisture from fabric. This allows better adhesion of the polymer to the fabric.
Place the transfer face-down in the desired position and press under heavy pressure for 15 seconds.
Remove the paper while HOT for a satin finish, or peel COLD for a glossy finish to the transfer.

Heat Press

Preheat press to 375º F.
Press garment for 3-5 seconds to release moisture and remove wrinkles.
Peel liner from back of printed transfer.
Place printed transfer onto the garment with the print side up and place the parchment paper on top of the printed transfer.
Set at medium to high pressure for best results.
Press for 25 seconds.
To peel COLD, wait for the transfer to cool for at least two minutes and then remove the parchment paper using a smooth, even motion. To peel HOT, wait 5 seconds, then remove parchment paper while still HOT/Warm using a smooth, even motion.
