Application Condition: 180~220℃ transfer print with 20~30 seconds, different materials with different

Dye Sublimation Paper Printing Refers to What's Kind Business?

1.Dye Sublimation refers to solid dye particles that are changed into gas using heat and pressure, which then bond with any polymers present and change back into a solid.

 

2.The Basic Dye Sublimation Process uses special heat sensitive dyes to print grahics and text onto special transfer  paper. The paper is then placed on a Blank Sublimation product and both are placed in aheat press.

3.When the heating cycle is complete, the image on the heat transfer paper has been transferred to the item and has actually reformed into or underneath the coated surface. Run your finger across the surface of a sublimated photo mug, plare or any coated product and you will feel nothing. It is as smooth as anything.

 

4.The reason for this is that sublimation is alsways done on polyester, polymer - coated items. At high temperatures, the solid dye converts into a gas without ever becoming a liquid. The same high temperature opens the pores of thepolymer and allows the gas to enter. When the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. It has now become part of the polymer.

5.This is why Dye Sublimation can't be done on natural materials such as 100% cotton or natural fibres and non coated materials which have no " pores " to open. Unless a polymer coated paper is used.

MS-JP High Speed Printer for Sublimation Digital Textile

Dover's Printing & Identification (DPI) segment includes the labelling and marking businesses Markem-Imaje and Datamax O'Neil, but it had no pre-existing wide-format interests. Vice-president of investor relations Paul Goldberg said: "The acquisition broadens our served markets into the textile and speciality materials markets and also affords us the opportunity to leverage the exciting MS technology across the segment." Paolo Milini, now vice-president of MS, told Digital Textile printing the sale was the right decision in order to maintain levels of service after a period of extraordinary growth.

 

 The company needed access to Dover's established international infrastructure for technical support. MS sales grew by 80% from 2012-2013 and its projection for 2014 is that revenues will be around $70 million. The company, whose flagship product is the super-fast MS-LaRio, recently expanded its production site to a covered area of 6,000sqm and is bringing forward new entry-level plotter models, the MS-JP2 and MS-JP3. Its production is currently averaging 18 machines a month. Goldberg said: "MS can leverage Dover's existing infrastructure and strong balance sheet to accelerate growth and enhance profitability."

 Initially, there would be no changes to Dover's DPI segment but the company would examine ways to leverage MS's technology to the broader market, and also see how MS could best take advantage of the existing Dover infrastructure. Luigi Milini, father of Paolo, will remain with the company as president. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Inkjet Sublimation Transfer Paper for Digital Textile Printing

If you thoroughly understand inkjet sublimation, you may want to skip to the next page. If you don't know much about it, this page will help you learn what it will and won't do.

The basic inkjet dye sublimation process uses a heat reactive sublimation dye, dissolved in a liquid, to print graphics and text onto special inkjet paper. This is called a dye sub transfer. The dye sublimation transfer paper and a sublimatable item are then placed into a heat press When the heating cycle is completed, the image on the paper has been transferred into the coating on the item and has actually become embeded into the coating. Run your finger across the surface of sublimation and you will feel nothing.

In the case of polyester, satin and some other synthetic fibers, the sublimation dye embeds into the fibers and becomes part of the fabric. Again, nothing is felt!

The reason for this is that sublimation is always done on a polyester, polymer, or polymer coated item. At high temperatures, the solid dyes in the print converts into a gas without becoming a liquid. The high temperature also opens the pores of the polymer and allows the gas to enter. When the item is removed from the heat, the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. It has now become a part of the polymer. 

Done correctly, it cannot be washed out or come off, unless the actual fibers or coating is damaged or re-heated. 

Note - Sunlight can re-activate the proccess so over-coating hard items will give them a longer life.

This is why Inkjet sublimation paper can't be done on natural materials, like 100% cotton. Natural fibers and non-coated materials have no "pores" to open and so the dye just sits on top of the fabric. Heat transfers are the best way to imprint cotton and cotton-blend fabrics.

What's Dye Sublimation Printing?

For dye sublimation transfer paper, fabrics historically had to be white or light in color. 100% polyester,

poly/cotton mix (the garment should be at least 50% poly) microfibre and nylon can all be used. This printing

process turns solid ink into a gas, avoiding a liquid stage. This process can be used on ceramic, wood, glass,

or metal as long as they have a polymer coating.

2,Transferring

HEAT PRESS

1) Preheat press to 375o - 400o F.

2) Press garment for 3-5 seconds to release moisture and remove wrinkles.

3) Place your printed image face down.

4) Use heat transfer tape to secure the paper on to the blank.

5) Place Teflon or Parchment paper sheet on top of the sublimation paper.

6) For fabric sublimations press at 400o for 35 seconds at medium pressure. For the iPhone 

Cover press at 356° for 120 seconds with medium pressure.

7) When the time is finished open the press and quickly remove the transfer.

 

3,WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

• Turn the garment inside out.   

• Wash in COLD water.   

• Use a mild detergent for best results.   

• Do not use bleach or bleach alternative detergents.   

• Remove the garment promptly from the washer. The color may bleed if left in the washer.

• Dry on LOW temperature.
